3/13/11: Here we are, about 600 miles from home. Friday we drove about 220 miles south on I-5 to Patterson, then 340 miles on Saturday to beautiful Barstow. Not much to write about yet other than to say the trip has been uneventful. Felt a bit fatigued after all the driving. Today we traveled to Twentynine Palms on 2 lane roads with almost no traffic. We will spend tomorrow exploring Joshua Tree National Park and post some pictures. It was 82 degrees today, which felt great.
Cooper has been traveling well, enjoying his walks and canine encounters. So far the rig has performed flawlessly - no sway even in high wind situations. Have been averaging nearly 11mpg. The price of gas is breathtaking- have paid up to $4.39 per gallon for regular in the desert.
